Mayor of London praises Panathlon

September 20th, 2012

Boris Johnson, Mayor of London writes,

Sporting Legacy for London

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Panathlon Challenge, who have grown over the last three years and I am proud to have supported the hard work of the Panathlon organisation. It is an important and obviously enjoyable competition for all involved.

Although the Olympic and Paralympic Games were a great success for Team GB and Paralympics GB, their long term success for London will be judged against their ability to inspire the next generation of young athletes. Many Londoners will not be aware of the hard work that has been put in for years by organisations such as Panathlon Challenge, but it is these grass roots organisations that hold the key to London’s sporting legacy.

I wish you good luck in the future.”

Yours sincerely
Boris Johnson
Mayor of London
