Early May has seen 3 days of great action in Kent – with around 200 young Panathletes competing for a place in the Kent Final. The team from Malling & Sevenoaks won on day 1, Herne Bay on Day 2 and Mid Kent & Ashford won the Final days action, each team qualifying for the Final on May 25th. They will be joined by Team Ashford who scored the highest place in 2nd place, with 46 points. A special mention should be made to the winners on day 3, Mid Kent & Ashford who won a clean sweep of 6 sports out of 6, a great performance !
One of the highlights of the 3 days of action in Kent was the help and co-ordination of the sports by 36 Young Leaders from The Malling School on Day 1, Dover and Canterbury High School on Day 2 and Sittingbourne Community College on Day 3.
Liz Johnson GB Paralympic Champion from Beijing was present on days 1 & 2, inspiring and awarding medals and Helen Turner, GB Wheelchair Basketball star did the same job on day 3. Check out blogs by both of our GB Paralympic stars on the Blog page.
The FInal takes place on May 25th at the Malling School.
Many thanks to BBC Children in Need and Kent Sport who have helped fund Panathlon in Kent.
