Team Ashford made up of Wyvern and John Wallis schools swept all before them in the first Panathlon round one event in Kent today held at Sittingbourne Community College.

Ashford won Table Cricket, Kurling, Polybat and both field athletics and athletics races to compile an impressive 54 points out of a possible 60. Sheppey & Sittingbourne came in 2nd on 44, Medway Chatham in 3rd on 34 and Maidstone and Mid Kent were 4th on 32 points.

Eloise Beasley from Wyvern School said, “It was a fantastic day, well organised, fully inclusive and great fun ! We had a young team today and they performed incredibly well. We can’t wait to compete again in the Finals on June 28th”

Huge thanks to the JCB Group the local car dealership, who sponsored today’s competition. Jonathan Bischoff, MD of the JCB Group said, ” We are delighted to be supporting the Panathlon Charity in delivering sporting opportunities to hundreds of disabled Kent Children once again in 2013.”

One of the competitors from the Ashford Team went on to say, “Today was great fun, the sun shined and everyone made us welcome. I love winning medals.”
