After two previous rounds of competition in Suffolk, we were all set for the Final on July 5th as part of Suffolk School Games.

The Team from Babergh made up of The Bridge and Hillside Schools won the Suffolk School Games Panathlon title today in a closely fought battle with the Team from Bury St Edmonds made up of Priory and Riverwalk Schools, with Ipswich (Beacon Hill) in third.

Olympian Chloe Rodgers and Paralympian Fran Williamson were on hand to inspire the athletes and award medals at the competition at King Edward V1 School in Bury.

Babergh won Kurling and Field Athletics but their consistency picking up 4 other 2nd places in Boccia, Table Cricket, Polybat and Athletics races meant they finished with 52 points, only 2 more than Bury St Edmonds with 50 and Ipswich in 3rd with 42 points.

The Leaders were excellent and came from East Point Academy, Suffolk One and Hillside. Well done to you all.

Huge thanks to Suffolk Community Sport Foundation and Suffolk School Games for funding this Panathlon competition.
