On the 20th June, Panathlon delivered its first ever Primary Panathlon competition in Birmingham. With this being the first time these students had attended a Primary Panathlon the day acted as the perfect introduction to the sports whilst students competed for their school team. 56 students from 2 schools competed and made up the 8 teams, named the Rockets, Blazers, Hurricanes from Cherry Oak School and the Stormers, Flames, Flyers, Thrashers and Rangers from Victoria Primary School.

Strong performances in table cricket and Parachute popcorn secured the Rangers the gold medal with the Flames and Hurricanes taking silver and bronze respectively.

“Our students have had a fantastic day and this is the first time some of them have been out to a competition. We’re really looking forward to seeing you for the Birmingham final in July!” Jo Gavin, Teacher at Cherry Oak School.
