Today Panathlon visited Ellen Wilkinson Girls School in Ealing to deliver a Primary Panathlon for 36 students from 4 local schools. John Chilton School, Spring Hallow, Allenby and Mount Carmel School were in attendance and battled it out across 8 activities including kurling, boccia and flight path.
In the early stages, it was clear that Mount Carmel were extremely quick and they showed their prowess in Parachute Popcorn and tennis slalom, registering the fastest times of the day. Allenby performed well in precision beanbag whilst Spring Hallow looked unbeatable on table cricket.
After 2 hours of competition only 7 points separated 1st place down to 4th, however it was John Chilton school who took gold after solid, consistent performances throughout the day. The silver medal went to Mount Carmel whilst Spring Hallow and Allenby finished 3rd and 4th respectively.
A big thanks must go to the leaders from Ellen Wilkinson Girls school for their help and support on the day, and further to the volunteers from EQ Investors.
We look forward to the next event in Ealing and hope to see even more faces there next time.
“Thank you for a fantastic day- it’s been very well organised. Our children have thoroughly enjoyed the day and the timings for each event are perfect for the ability level of our children. We’ll certainly be at the next one.” David Peacock, Teacher at Spring Hallow School.
Many thanks of course the Mayor of London for funding this area of work.
