Today 97 students from 10 schools participated in the North London Final of the Panathlon Challenge at Southbury Sports Centre in Edmonton.
Enfield won Boccia, Table Cricket, Kurling, Athletics Field sports and totalled 60 points in total. in second was Waltham Forest who won Polybat on a total of 54 points. In third was Haringey who won football on 42 points and in 4th was Barnet on 40 points.
Enfield then qualify for the first time ever to the London Final on June 19th and will represent North London.
“The staff and students were ecstatic for making the final for the first time.” said Val Harnett from West Lea School. “It was an amazing day of inclusive sport and a fantastic achievement of all the students from our 3 schools.”
Helen Tuner veteran of 3 Paralympics for Team GB in wheelchair basketball was present to award medals and trophies to the winning teams.
10 Young Leaders from the Petchey Academy in Hackney assisted running the sports competitions.
