Our England National Ten Pin Bowling Final is coming up on 19th March!

Schools will compete in 12 venues for the right to be the champion – across the country, from Gloucestershire to Carlisle, and from Sunderland to Slough.

Qualifiers from our local competitions earlier in the academic year progress to our National Final. The winning teams at each of the 12 locations will be given gold medals – then an overall England winner will be crowned after rapid online score comparisons between each event manager.

Approximately over 700 young people will compete on the day as part of this National Final.

Red Oak School in Lowestoft will go to Norwich for the East Anglia event. PE coordinator Johnny Lee said: “We won’t be missing it, we will definitely be there!  We look forward to the event and thanks for inviting us.”

St Maria Goretti Primary in Preston will compete in Bolton. Adam Burchill, Year 3 teacher and PE Lead, siad: “They have barriers to learning, but here they can excel and win, no matter their ability. It was the first time any team from our school reached a Lancashire county final: they are now part of a National Final, wow!”

Tanys Dell School from Harlow will compete in the Essex Finals at the Hollywood Bowl in Basildon, with Rebecca Reay, their lead teacher, hoping their team’s best performer Harry can help propel them towards the title.

Harry said: “Ten pin is fun! I have been bowling since our qualification, as that day was my best score ever. I hope to better it in the finals.”

Tony Waymouth, COO of Panathlon, says: “We can’t wait for the English schools to have their opportunity to become national champion. The large numbers of children competing in this Panathlon programme means we now can provide these opportunities to allow children to see that winning things leads to more opportunities and hopefully more success. They can be considered high achievers within their schools.”
