England’s Panathlon primary school ten-pin bowling champions have been crowned!

With events running regionally on Tuesday 19th May, 125 schools across the country were competing for the title, with 773 children taking part across 12 venues.

And North Primary School of West London came out on top, averaging an incredible 102 in their competition in Slough.

The highest special school was Preston’s Coppice School, who averaged 97 at the Bolton event, and their team member Anis also got the highest individual score, with 141.

“As head coach of North Primary I am extremely proud of our students for winning the national bowling competition,” said Dylan Bahad. “Their hard work, dedication and teamwork throughout the competitions have led to an incredible achievement they deserve.

“The victory has truly shown positive growth in confidence, improved social skills and most importantly shown them anything is possible. The experience has created and strengthened friendships within the team and created memories they will never forget.

“The winners brought pride back to North Primary as they charged through the school with great excitement with the trophy held high on the way to show their friends and celebrate together.

“North Primary’s dedication to inclusion shows the true importance of supporting SEN students in sport and extracurricular activities. Without a doubt this victory will inspire other students to get involved in school sports and believe in their own abilities to have the opportunity to succeed. Thank you again to Featherstone Partnership and Panathalon for making their dream come true.”

Juma Abdullahi, head of community sport at Featherstone School Sports Partnership in Ealing, said: “I am incredibly proud of the role events like the Panathlon National Finals play in our borough. Ealing has a strong commitment to inclusion, and ensuring that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) have access to meaningful sporting opportunities is a key priority. Events of this scale not only showcase talent but also reinforce the importance of creating inclusive pathways for all young people to engage in physical activity, representing their schools and communities with pride.

“Panathlon plays a vital role within the borough by providing high-quality, inclusive competitive opportunities that are often not available elsewhere. Their programme gives pupils with SEND the chance to experience the excitement of competition in a supportive and structured environment, helping to build confidence, resilience and social connections. The impact goes far beyond the day itself, inspiring schools to further prioritise inclusive sport and physical activity within their settings.

“For Ealing, having a school crowned National Champions is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the dedication of our pupils, staff and wider school communities. It demonstrates what can be achieved when the right opportunities and support systems are in place. We are proud to work alongside organisations like Panathlon to continue strengthening inclusive sport provision across the borough and ensuring that every young person has the chance to be active, compete and succeed.”
