Columbus College in Chelmsford hosted the second Essex Semi Final today with teams competing including Oakview School representing West Essex, Beacon Hill – Thurrock, Glenwood – Castle Point and Columbus representing Chelmsford.

Two teams will qualify for the Final on June 26th at Basildon Sports Village as part of the Essex School Games, alongside yesterdays winners, Tendring and NW Essex.

Previous Essex Champions, Beacon Hill from Thurrock were too strong for the opposition and won Boccia, Table Cricket, Kurling and Athletics Races to finish with an impressive 56 points out of a possible 60.

In second place was West Essex who won Polybat and Athletics Field events with a total of 46 points, 3rd was Columbus Chelmsford with 38 points and 4th was Castle View with 28 points.

Brandon Mullin from Beacon Hill Academy in Thurrock said, “Its been another fantastic day at Panathlon and the kids are always inspired to do their very best. They will be buzzing until the Final in June. Panathlon is the highlight of their sporting year.”
