Yesterday Panathlon held our first ever primary multi-sport competition in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire. A total of 56 primary students from 6 schools including St Davids, St James & Ebrington, Blockley, Mickleton, St Catherines, and Bledington took part. The event was battled out across 8 different activities including Boccia Blast, New Age Kurling, Parachute Popcorn, Volleybat, Flight Path, and Precision Beanbag as well as the newly developed Tennis Slalom and Basketball Shoot.
With extremely strong performances in Boccia, and a Panathlon record in Flight Path, it was St James & Ebrington School who achieved gold with ease, ahead of St Davids School in 2nd and Blockey School in the bronze medal position.
With a fantastic take up from the surrounding schools, Panathlon will be delivering another competition for further schools in the Cotswolds area on Friday 27th February.
“Thank you for a well organised event- we’ll certainly be holding more here in the future because you can see the positive impact it has on the children as well as the leaders.” Sarah Dowler, Teacher at Chipping Campden School.
“I can’t wait to win a medal. I haven’t got one before so I really want to try my best to get gold with my team.” Shay, Blockley School
