99 Disabled young people from 7 schools in 3 West London Boroughs of Richmond, Kingston and Merton took part today at Chessington Community College in 7 Panathlon Sports.
And for the first time in six years of trying the team from Richmond won and qualified for the South London Final with a score of 64 points, winning Kurling, Polybat and both Athletics field and Athletics races. In second place was Merton with 58 points, who also qualify for the Final after winning Boccia, Table Cricket and Football in the process. In third was Kingston with 46 points.
The schools involved were Bedelsford, Drysart, and St Phillips from Kingston, Strathmore and Clarendon from Richmond and Perseid and Cricket Green from Merton.
The sports were ran by the Sports Leaders from Chessington Community College, who have previously qualified as Panathlon Young Officials. They will go on to officiate the South London Final on March 13th at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
