76 students from 10 local school all visited Northumberland Park School in Haringey to compete in a Primary Panathlon Competition. All 76 students got to represent their schools most of which have never done so before and they got to compete in 8 different sports, including Boccia and Kurling.
Schools from Bruce Grove, Harris, Our Lady of Muswell, Noel Park, St Francis De Sales, Lee Valley, Mulberry, Earlsmead, St Adans and Rhodes Avenue took part with a number of schools competing for the first time at a Panathlon event. After a hard fought morning, the afternoon saw the team from Francis De Sales take gold ahead of Our Lady of Muswell and Noel Park in Silver and the 3rd place went to Rhodes Avenue.
“Thank you for such a well organised event. The children that came from Earlsmead School were happy and glowing. It was lovely to see. One of the children who came, is going through a particularly difficult time and is full of angst. It was the most relaxed and happy we have seen him in a long while today, so that’s made our day here.”
