Today the West Panathlon Challenge at Hillingdon Sports Complex saw the ever strong Harrow Team book their spot at the West London Final with runners up Hillingdon also making it through. They will compete against Hammersmith and Ealing on March 14th at Featherstone High School to decide who will be crowned West London Champions, and go on to the All London Final on June 19th.
10 schools in all were represented
Harrow – Shaftesbury, Whitmore & Kingsley High
Brent – The Village, Woodfield
Hillingdon – Meadow High, Pield Heath, Coteford, Harefield Academy, Guru Nanak Sikh Academy
Harrow who have got to the London Final the last two years were too strong for their rivals winning, Boccia, Kurling, Polybat and Athletics and amassing an impressive 66 points out of a possible 70. Hillingdon edged out Brent for a place in the West Final by winning Table Cricket and Football.
Gurmeet Singh Rajput, father to one of the competitors, Haraharam Singh Rajput said, ” It was very encouraging for all of us to be here. To see the exercise, the team work, the players achieving goals alongside the enjoyment. As parent, we enjoyed this competition a lot and we would like to come again. Thank you for arranging this competition. ” Haraham is part of the Hillingdon Team and goes to Guru Nanak Sikh Academy in Hayes
