On the 14th of November Panathlon delivered a primary coaching event to forty one students from seven different schools across Havering. Everyone who attended was new to the Panathlon sports that included: flight path, boccia blast, messi football, table cricket, volleybat, new age kurling, parachute popcorn & precision bean bag.

It was a closely fought competition but the eventual winners were Ardleigh Green School, after an amazing round of table cricket. All students who took part are now more familiar with the primary Panathlon games and we hope to see them at the East London Primary Panathlon in May.

“We had a fantastic day today, and we thought it was very well organised! All of our children were new to most of these games and it’s lovely to see them excited to compete, and above all, being recognised for their sporting achievements.” (Heather Pritchard, Teacher at Wykeham Primary School)

“I loved playing curling, and I scored the highest for my team! We haven’t got this game in school, so it’s fun to play something different.” (Lewis, Student at Wykeham Primary School)

Young Leaders at Panathlon“We have been to Panathlon before, but it’s brilliant that this is for primary school children because it means they’re competing on a level playing field. It’s great to see all the children working as a team and engaging with young leaders, whom they haven’t met before. You can really see how their confidence increases as they play and interact.” (Sue Marshall, Teacher at Highlands School)
