The Panathlon Team and Disability Sports Coach were in action again, driving down to Canterbury for a morning then afternoon at Pilgrims Way Primary and Wincheap Primary School respectively.

Today was a coaching event, rather than a competition, and also an introduction to The Panathlon Challenge for 75 pupils and their teachers. None of these schools have been involved in The Panathlon Challenge before.

James & Laura split the pupils into groups and switched them between outdoor athletics and indoor Boccia and New Age Kurling. Each group had at least an hour and a quarter on both sports before a new class was involved. Only a few had played Boccia & New Age Kurling  before, so the excitement of playing a new sport successfully was notable by the concentration and engagement of the players. Some future Panathlon Medalists in awaits.

Many of these pupils will feed into St Nicholas School next year, so it’s likely we will see them playing for the Canterbury Panathlon Team in 2012 and beyond.

Well done to you all !
