Staff from our new funders Investigo said the experience of being leaders at Wednesday’s Panathlon London Multisport Final at the Copper Box Arena “far exceeded expectations.”

The specialist recruitment agency sent 11 staff members to the Olympic Park to help out at our showpiece annual final, where Enfield were crowned London champions in a thrilling finale to a competition which has included over 100 schools from all 32 London Boroughs.

Investigo are running a campaign, The Big Investigo Give’, which gives every individual within their organisation a fundraising target, as well as time off to take part in charity work and other volunteering opportunities. Panathlon are nominated as their Charity of the Year for 2019.

Lisa Holberton (main pic), Investigo’s Head of Marketing, explained: “We choose a smaller charity each year intentionally because we like to feel like we’re making a difference. Being able to come down on a day like this to see the difference that a charity like Panathlon makes, it really resonates with us.

“Having our staff come down to this awesome venue and help out with the activities means they’re going to go away now highly motivated to raise more money for Panathlon. With a charity like this, you feel so involved. It’s such a positive charity and that’s what really attracted us to Panathlon.

Staff from Investigo have already completed a 450km cycle ride through France, Belgium and the Netherlands, raising £15,000, and a ‘quiz night’ that raised £27,000 for Panathlon. Such has been the rapid start to their efforts for the year, they are already way ahead of schedule for hitting their £100,000 target for the year.

“Once you come to see Panathlon in action and understand everything they’re about, that’s all the motivation our guys need to keep pedalling through those 450km and the other challenges they take on. Seeing the impact that fundraising is having really hits the spot with our staff. This experience has far exceeded all of our expectations.”

Nearly 50 staff from Investigo have now experienced the impact of Panathlon at the four competitions where they have volunteered in London and Surrey. More opportunities are planned for later in the year.

Liz Johnson, our Ambassador and Paralympic champion, commented: “Investigo are proactive in championing an inclusive workforce and community and it is fantastic that they are getting their hands ‘dirty’ and seeing the benefits of Panathlon with their own eyes.”
