Just thought we'd share some amazing feedback from teacher Ben Clark @beckmeadfamilyofschools Moundwood Academy after our recent 10-pin final in Essex:

“We only have two girls and they get a bit of a raw deal. Afterwards, the boys were giving her high-fives and you could see she was just absolutely glowing.

“It was quite emotional for the children because they never usually talk like that to one another. Afterwards, they were all so happy. It shows how powerful events like that are for children.

“One of our Year 5 boys, who’s very disengaged with school, got a gold medal. He said to me, ‘Mr Clark, I’ve never had a medal before and I’m never taking it off!'”

“Panathlon has had an immense impact on PE and our school as a whole. On the back of coming to the Panathlon galas, three pupils have joined swimming clubs because they enjoyed it so much. Having this amazing experience has had a knock-on impact on many individual children.”

Another day, another national final! 😊 Congratulations to @coldfall_primary_school from north London for winning our Panathlon National Primary Swimming Final at @londonaquaticcentre on Wednesday!

Buttsbury Junior School from Billericay, Essex claimed silver and Hempsted Primary from Gloucester were third.

We had seven schools from across England, supported by Young Leaders from @colchesterprephighschool and special guests Chloe and Megan from our sponsors @pentlandbrands 🏊‍♀️

We are so pleased to receive this feedback from our first ever Panathlon competition with Burnley School Sport Partnership!

🗣 "To aim it at the children who might not do much sporting activity in or out of school is a great idea. They could all knock pins down so all got a sense of achievement, making it really inclusive and rewarding."

🥇 "I was a big fan of all students receiving a certificate and a medal, but also the competitive element for students to win individual awards too."

🎳 "We thought it was brilliant - especially for some of our children who haven’t experienced bowling before. It opens opportunities for them. Even a sticker for a strike made a huge difference."

👭 "Our pupils said they liked working together, they loved the medals and they liked the fact that they saw children from other schools."

😁 "It was really exciting, it’s the first time I’ve been bowing. Super fun and super, super happy we won third place!"

Panathlon is expanding its offering for children w

Panathlon is expanding its offering for children with disabilities and special needs in the North East thanks to our partnership with local charity @smiletsport!

Managing Director Rachel Miller says: “We have the contacts and the local knowledge but not necessarily the resources to put on local events, so partnering with Panathlon is fantastic.

"It has enabled us to provide such a range of competitions so we can meet the needs of every disability. We’re getting more children active, engaging new schools and widening the network."
