Over 70 schoolchildren took part in Norfolk’s first Panathlon Multi-Sports Final in Norwich today and left teachers wanting more such events.

The Sportspark at the University of East Anglia hosted pupils from five schools and Hall School emerged as the inaugural Panathlon Norfolk champions.

Will Gant, PE Teacher at Hall School, who won the competition and are shown at the top in green, commented: “Panathlon did a great job organising and running a great event. It will certainly be something we will add into the Norfolk calendar every year.”

Sue Buckle, PE Teacher at Cliff Park Academy, added: “It was a great event. If you get the chance, do it. This brought everyone together. It was an excellent day.”

The pupils also thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, which included boccia, polybat, new-age kurling, table cricket and field athletics.

David Bauer, a pupil at Hall School, said: “Today was brilliant. I’m really proud to win. It is amazing for all schools to be here and taking part.”

The 12 leaders were provided by Cliff Park Academy. A big thank you to our funders including the Mason Trust, who have been very supportive.
