Panathlon started its London Multi-Sports season today in North London at Southbury Leisure Centre, with Camden, Haringey, Barnet & local’s Enfield all competing. 106 children competed from 9 schools and 19 young leaders officiating.
The closest competition of the day came in the New Age Kurling with a 3 way tie between Enfield, Barnet & Camden. Enfield took the gold due to countback which is worked out who scored the most in their games. Enfield 8 points, Barnet’s 7 points & Camden’s 5 points.
Enfield won the competition winning four out of the six events. A very dominant display in particularly the athletics, both track & field. It was a tough battle for second place with only one point seperately Haringey and Camden. It is Haringey who showed consistancy throughout the day to join Enfield in the Champions Final to take place on the 5th March. To see a full set of results see here.
Camden Teacher commented, “Panathlon was well organised and lots of fun for our kids. The only missing ingredient from today was music, cheerleaders & fireworks? It had everything else.”
Dor Williams, Waverley School, Enfield, “We had a great time playing against the other boroughs. It was fantastic to see our students mixing with all the other students from other teams, and doing some great independent sports.”
We look forward to seeing all these teams again. Enfield & Haringey in the Champions Final. Camden & Barnet in the Plate Final come March.
