Panathlon’s partnership with the Tim Henman Foundation continues to go from strength to strength – most recently with a special day at Purley Bury Tennis Club for young people from Addington Valley Academy and Bensham Manor School.
The pupils got to try out a range of activities – and got to hear from former Paralympic wheelchair tennis star Louise Hunt.
“Panathlon’s collaboration with the Tim Henman Foundation and other partners has been a great success in providing training and mentoring for coaches, weekly sessions and Panathlon Sports Days for SEND pupils with a range of needs across a number of schools,” says Panathlon event manager Mark Bullock.
“THF was delighted when all our partners, together with club volunteers, came together on the same day to deliver their part of our inclusive activity programme in Purley,” said THF CEO Jamie Feaver. “Seeing first hand the enjoyment experienced by all the students and their teachers during their tennis and activities really brought home its huge impact and we are looking forward to continuing this inspirational programme next year.”
He added: “THF has been working with the Panathlon Foundation since the summer of 2023 and we are going from strength to strength to provide the children in our programmes with inclusive and competitive sport.”
