Plymouth Special Schools Panathlon – Tuesday 27th April
Well over 100 students from Schools across the City took part in the Special Schools Panathlon which, this year, was split between GOALS football centre and the Devonshire Health and Racquet Club.
Pupils took part in Football, Boccia, Tennis, Rowing and Athletics.
The students were from Woodlands Special School, Mill Ford School, JCC Primary School, Courtlands Primary School, Plymstock Secondary School, Longcause Community Special School and Mount Tamar School.
The students had a wide range of abilities, many in wheelchairs, others with Learning disabilities but, all working together throughout the day.
The Athletics took place in the afternoon and brought all the competitors together in the main hall at the Devonshire where they took part in relays which used various skills and were adapted to allow all pupils and staff to take part.
This was an excellent finish to the day and all the pupils had a great time. This was, once again, a collaboration between the two partnerships across the City and there was also help from the Sports Development Unit from Plymouth City Council, Marjons (some of their students were used throughout the day) and Several other volunteers.
Thanks to the 2 SSP’s who co-ordinated all activity, and Marjons students.
