On the 13th January 2014, Panathlon visited Redgates School in Croydon to deliver an in-school Primary Panathlon. 13 students from Redgates school, and 6 students from The Priory, a fellow Croydon school, comprised 3 teams to compete against each other.  All students, who haven’t previously had the opportunity to take part in Panathlon games were introduced to the 6 different primary activities, including New Age Kurling, Boccia Ball Blast, Flight Path, Parachute Popcorn, Precision Beanbag and Relay Races.

A closely fought competition, it was the blue team who sneaked the win, consistently performing well on each of the activities. A big thank you must go to Jordan and Anand, young leaders from the Priory School for helping out on the various activities, keeping score and giving demonstrations to the students.

“Thanks for a brilliant day, all the teachers and children have been really impressed and we would definitely like to attend the Primary Panathlon competition later in the year.”
Danielle, Teacher at Redgates Primary

“We have had a brilliant day. Great to see the students interacting so well through teamwork and they have all behaved so well because they love doing these activities. We’ll see you soon for the next Panathlon event!”
Wendy Martin, Teacher at Priory School

“Thank you for a super day. It has been really fun and I enjoyed doing Kurling.”
Anand, Student from Priory School

We would like to thank The Wembley National Stadium Trust for the funding for this competition.
