Running Imp, the countries leading supplier of medals, trophies and equipment for event organisers, is celebrating its 21st anniversary by supporting Panathlon Challenge as its Charity of the Year in 2009.

The Panathlon Challenge will involve over 2,500 young disabled young sportsmen and women around the country in 2009 in a series of competitive sporting events, all being rewarded with medals and trophies designed and supplied by Running Imp. The company has been supplying the charity for 10 years.

For 2009 they have adopted Panathlon as their focus for fundraising and have very kindly agreed to donate 1p to the charity for every medal sold. Running Imp has already donated a cheque for £3,000 to kick start the years fundraising effort.

Chris Illsley, Running Imp Managing Director said, “We have been rewarding Panathlon competitors for over ten years with medals and trophies and we are very proud this year to be giving something back, by choosing the Panathlon Foundation as our Charity of the Year. We are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for this very worthy cause.”

John Hymers, Chair of the Panathlon Foundation said, “We are delighted that Running Imp has adopted Panathlon as its Charity of the Year for 2009. Every penny generated will go to help young disabled people around the country to receive expert coaching, specialised sporting equipment and mini-Paralympic type competitions. We are very grateful for their generous support.”
