Two great days of Panathlon events in Essex, with 250 young disabled people taking part.
Day 1 at College at Braintree saw Harlow team, current Essex Champions put in another strong performance to win once again and qualify for the Panathlon Final on July 1st. Essex CC and Hilton Foundation helped fund day 1 with other teams from Tendring, (marketfield and Shorefield) NW Essex (Southview) and Colchester (Lxden Springs) For a full set of results – click results section of website and see also Gallery for more pics. Day 2 at Riverside Sports Centre, Chelmsford with 5 teams competing, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Shoeburyness & Southend, Thurrock and West Essex. Students from Great Baddow provided officials for the competitions and once again the Essex Competition Managers ran the sports.
A very strong all around performance from Beacon Hill School in Thurrock saw them become Champions for the day with 3 first places and 3 second places. Oakview from Loughton West Essex came 2nd, and the new team from Shoeburyness and Southend, came 3 in theor first ever Panathlon.
