This week Panathlon have trained 52 leaders in Kent ready for next weeks multi-sport competitions. Training leaders from Sittingboune, Malling School,  Holmesdale School and Ursuline College.

Holmesdale School leaders have already officiated with Panathlon this year, getting involved at the Swimming competition back in November. They are looking forward to a different challenge with the multi-sport competitions.

Sam Kennett, Teacher at Sittingbourne Community College said, “Being involved in Panathlon enables our leaders to gain their Level 3 Sports Leaders Award, which includes a module in working with children with disabilities in sport. Panathlon helps give the leaders valuable experience in working with children.”Malling School

James Barnes, Teacher at Malling School told me about previous years students who used their experience with Panathlon in their UCAS interviews enabling them to secure university places. He cited one of last years leaders taking photo’s of her working with the Panathletes as a unique discussion point, to sell herself in these interviews to good success.

We are looking forward to seeing these leaders in action next week.
