Today Panathlon delivered a Boccia training course for the teachers at Frank Barnes School for the Deaf in Camden.

Boccia is one of the sports that the Frank Barnes school have highlighted this year they would like to work on with their students. With a focus on the rules of the game, the training also covered variations of Boccia games that are easily adapted for deaf students. Now that 12 enthusiastic and competitive teachers are trained up, we hope the school will benefit at Panathlons Deaf Boccia Championships later in the year.

Thank you so much for a fantastic session. You have given us some great ideas to use with students and as a result I’m sure we’ll be playing a lot more boccia!” Catherine Drew Frank Barnes School.

Panathlon will be offering various other sports throughout the year to Deaf and HI students in various locations in London as part of the Impairment Specific programme, funded through the Jack Petchey Foundation partnership.
