Panathlon is off again! With first event of the year, The Wiltshire Panathlon Challenge next week, James visited Greendown Community School in Swindon to train 17 sports leaders (14-15 year olds) to be our Wiltshire Panathlon Officials.
“Throughout the morning I introduced Panathlon and taught the rules through playing the sports. The Panathlon sports of Table Cricket, Polybat, Kurling & Boccia were new to the group and were quickly understood. In the afternoon, the leaders chose a sport to concentrate on, and practiced their officiating skills – taking charge of the group and leading them in a sport. This was a new experience for a number of the group, to lead their peers in a sport, decide of the scores in a formal setting and to communicate the scores clearly. With the event next Wednesday, I am confident that we have a good group of officials to oversee the sports.”
